Second-graders at Barnard Elementary School each got a brand new free scooter.

CHICAGO - Students in Beverly got a big surprise on Monday!

Second-graders at Barnard Elementary School each got a brand new free scooter.

This was made possible by a group of local high school students who each chipped in two dollars to help buy nearly 100 scooters.

The goal was to teach students about kindness and helping others.
