The agency says the number of applications has surpassed the amount of funding, $12 million, for the fiscal year. The program offers $4,000 to people who have bought EVs within 90 days.

CHICAGO - A grocery store in central Illinois is buzzing with excitement after selling a winning scratch-off lottery ticket worth $5 million. The winning ticket, a $30 "Million $$ Match" scratcher, was sold at Schnuck's supermarket, located at 1301 Savoy Plaza Center in Savoy, according to a statement from the Illinois Lottery. It was not immediately clear who purchased the winning ticket or when it was sold. The lucky player, whose identity has not yet been released, is pocketing $5 million from the win, the game's jackpot prize, officials said.

Kelvin Franklin, 32, was part of a group of 18 men who allegedly worked at an open-air drug market in Humboldt Park, where undercover agents made about 80 purchases during a year-long investigation dubbed "Operation Monticello’s Revenge.

CHICAGO - A man was arrested Monday night for allegedly burglarizing a South Loop liquor store.  At about 10:30 p.m., Chicago police officers responded to the 600 block of South Wells Street for a report of a burglary. When officers arrived, they found that the front window of a liquor store had been shattered. While searching the area, officers located a male offender who matched the description provided by a witness.

Christopher Davis was charged with one felony count of aggravated unlawful use of weapon and one misdemeanor count of aggravated assault, Glen Ellyn police said. Davis allegedly pointed a gun at a truck driver Friday morning in the area of Duane Street and Melrose Avenue, police said.

AURORA, Ill. - A 22-year-old man is critically injured after being shot in Aurora, according to police. The shooter is still on the run. Officers were called just after 3 p.m. Thursday to the area of Fifth Avenue and Bangs Street.  The victim was found inside a vehicle with gunshot wounds. Police said he was taken by ambulance to an area hospital and is in critical condition. No one else was injured in the shooting.
