Teen arrested for Zion mother's shooting death A 16-year-old boy has been arrested for allegedly fatally shooting a mother who was reading the Bible to her daughter in her Zion home last month. ZION, Ill. - Bond has been set at $3 million for a Zion teen accused of firing shots that killed a 23-year-old mother who was reading the Bible to her daughter in October. Zechariah C. Myles, 16, is charged as an adult with six counts of first-degree murder in the death of Melanie Yates.

PORTAGE, Ind. - Two people are dead after being shot inside of a Portage home Tuesday afternoon. At about 2:52 p.m., Portage officers responded to the 5900 block of Marbella Avenue in response to a 911 call from a female juvenile. The girl said that she returned home to find her mother and father injured and were possibly dead, police said. When officers arrived, a 45-year-old woman was found inside, near the front of the home.
